Sawyer Hill New York Concert reviews
We had a blast @ "Bamboozle"*!
The Ready Set was the opening act, and they were outstanding.
We were fortunate to secure a spot near the stage inside the Ballroom early on, just behind about 5 rows of people. It was enjoyable to be part of the crowd!
It was quite a letdown when the lights went out, and everyone began pushing toward the stage. Ugh!
I really enjoyed feeling the bass internally when the floor vibrated!
Next up was Good Charlotte. I was only familiar with 2 of their songs, so I mostly listened.
Boys Like Girls followed. Three tall guys managed to get in front of us; that was irritating! They were elbowing people around them :[ Nevertheless, the songs were excellent.
The lighting was superb! The pinpoint lighting was a neat effect, resembling stars beaming down on the crowd.
During Thunder, someone in the crowd was clapping, and Martin from Boys Like Girls invited him on stage to lead us! That was a fun moment! At the end, everyone shouted, "We love you John!" I imagine that was John's favorite part ;)
We had to wait a considerable amount of time for Sawyer Hill to take the stage. I believe they had amplifier issues, and their backdrop either didn't arrive or had a malfunction :(
Finally, Sawyer Hill appeared on stage! Once they started, the crowd went wild (as expected). They kicked off with "Keep the Change, You Filthy Animal."
Later on, Alex had the crowd create a space for a mosh pit. They were close to us, but they weren't too rowdy.
By the end, there were so many people crowd surfing that it was challenging to keep them all moving.
The songs I wished they had performed were Walls, Too Much & Hello, Brooklyn.
Overall, we had a fantastic time at "Bamboozle"* singing and jumping along with the bands!
* Despite the cancellation of Bamboozle :( we were grateful that the bands managed to organize another venue at the last minute!
